Friday, October 19th

On Wednesday we did finished the book Rain Forest Food Chains. We are having our test on Tuesday of next week. In grammar we are working on helping verbs. Spelling lesson 1.5 will come home on Monday.

Today we started reading our supporting text "Rain Forest Food Chains".

- Nov 7 - Robert Crown Presentations in class for all 5th grade students

Fri., Oct. 5th

Today the students took their first ReadyGen test. It will be coming home on Tuesday with a note explaining the testing process. Tuesday we will begin reading "Rain Forests Food Chains". For grammar we are continuing diagramming and working on subjects, predicates, and prepositions. On Tuesday we will also be starting lesson 4 in spelling. Both classes have finished our read aloud "Restart" and are working on a final project.

Wed. Oct. 3, 2018

Today we finished our Ready Gen novel, "Washed Up!" We have focused on finding the conflict and theme in this story. We have also finished our explanatory writing on island environments. In spelling we are going to have our lesson 3 test on Friday (Oct 5). In grammar we are working on prepositions, subjects, and predicates. Thanks!!

10/5 - Lesson 3 Spelling Test (1.3 on Spelling City 

In Reading we are continuing to read our first novel "Washed Up!". We are starting chapter 4 on Monday. Next week we are anticipating finishing the last chapter, chapter 5. 

In grammar we are continuing to work on prepositions and verb tenses. They can be working on these skills on IXL. 

In writing we are continuing to write our first explanatory essay together. Next week we will be adding transitions and a conclusion to our essay.

Monday, Sept. 10th

Today we started our new novel "Washed Up!" in Ready Gen. There is no homework that was sent home tonight. We also introduced our new spelling words (Lesson 2). We are anticipating the test to be next Wednesday (bc of outdoor ed).
